Built by Analysts, for Analysts

We started yzexoslova in 2018 because corporate finance education felt stuck. Too much theory, not enough real-world application. We wanted something better for people actually working in the field.

How We Got Here

After spending years working in corporate finance departments across Brisbane and Sydney, something became clear. The gap between what universities taught and what companies needed was getting wider, not smaller.

Most training programs focused on textbook scenarios that looked nothing like the messy, complicated situations we dealt with daily. Capital allocation decisions rarely come with clean data. Valuation models break when markets behave unpredictably. And nobody teaches you how to present financial strategy to executives who don't want another PowerPoint deck.

So we built yzexoslova around actual problems financial analysts face. The kind that show up in your inbox at 4pm on a Thursday and need answers by Monday morning.

What Guides Our Work

These aren't corporate platitudes. They're the principles that shape every program we design.

Real Problems Only

We don't teach theory for theory's sake. Every case study comes from actual corporate finance situations we've encountered or consulted on. Names changed, lessons intact.

Practical Before Perfect

Academic rigor matters, but so does getting the work done. We teach methods that hold up under scrutiny while being implementable with real constraints and imperfect data.

Context Changes Everything

What works for mining companies doesn't work for tech startups. Australian market dynamics differ from US markets. We teach frameworks that adapt, not formulas that don't.

Our Journey So Far

2018

Starting Small

Launched with a single course on financial modeling for mid-market companies. Twelve participants, all referrals from colleagues who were tired of generic training programs.

Expanding the Curriculum

Added specialized programs in capital structure analysis and valuation techniques. Started working with corporate finance teams who wanted customized training that matched their actual business challenges.

Building Depth

Introduced advanced courses in strategic finance and cross-border transactions. By this point, we'd worked with over 300 analysts across Australia and started seeing them move into senior roles.

What's Next

We're developing new content around emerging areas like sustainability finance and digital transformation valuation. The landscape keeps changing, which means our curriculum needs to keep evolving too.

Who's Behind This

We're not a massive team. Just experienced practitioners who care about making analysts better at their jobs.

Teaching What Actually Works

Ingrid spent fourteen years in corporate finance roles before starting yzexoslova. She's worked through three major acquisitions, two restructurings, and countless capital raising rounds. That experience shapes how we approach education here.

Her philosophy is straightforward: if you can't apply it in a real business situation within the next three months, it probably doesn't belong in the curriculum. She also believes that financial analysis is as much about communication as calculation, which is why our programs emphasize both.

When she's not developing course content, Ingrid consults with finance teams on strategic planning and capital allocation. It keeps her connected to the actual challenges analysts are dealing with right now.

Our Approach to Learning

  • Case studies based on real transactions and decisions from Australian companies
  • Small cohort sizes that allow for substantive discussion and peer learning
  • Focus on practical application rather than theoretical completeness
  • Emphasis on developing judgment alongside technical skills
